I bought four kinds of organic tea yesterday from By the Pound. They're all black--Darjeeling, English Breakfast, and an orange pekoe and Thiashola Nilgiri. I'm sipping the last this morning and it has a beautiful orange-red color (flavor's okay too). I'm searching for organic green, white, and oolong. I asked the cashier at the store whether they ever carry organic non-black teas--she asked for my name and phone number and said they would get back to me. It's nice seeing palpably how I might, might shape supply beyond my purchases themselves!
S. Stripe started on azithromycin last night. I'm afraid it might be making him very nauseated. I gave him a dose half an hour ago and he's not looking so hot. Damn. It's hard to know what to do. There should be more specialized vets, and rats should learn English. At right he appears to have overcome his nausea and is eating Nutri-Cal, his favorite food.
There were eight people sleeping over last night, which meant I didn't sleep much. Top on today's list, aside from watching S. Stripe, is to buy ear plugs. I'd also like to find a white or pseudo-white ambient noise station online so I don't have to buy one of those silly machines. I get mad props for getting to bed by midnight these past two nights. Since I've been awake from 2-3 to 5 a.m. (at least), I've been sleeping in way too late and not wanting to exercise in the morning and not feeling like I have time to read. I'm nonetheless going to prep my locker at the YMCA today so that it's ready the
next time I get a solid 8. The reading might (again) have to wait.
It's my Grandma's birthday, it's damn cold outside, and there's lots of personal administrative stuff to do. At least I no longer have to worry about the second floor toilet (which the plumber has visited three times in the past three weeks to fix--now everything has been replaced except the porcelain). On to the trellis, Princeton interviews, and so on. Happy 2/4!
CSM and I were talking about starting a restaurant blog for Ann Arbor (yes, inspired by the nytimes article on the fierce competition among food bloggers in NYC). We might not be able to afford it, but perhaps I could represent local vegetarians who don't want to drop good money for a plate full of steamed vegetables or mushroom ravioli. It might be an expensive hobby, but I might do some good by it.
